#SixSentenceSunday with Rule Breaker.

It's Sunday again, so you all know what that means. I'm going to give you six sentences from either a WIP or an already published book.

It's not always easy to pick which book, or even which six sentences to pull to give you a glimpse into our work. Sometimes those sentences just pop right out at me and other times, I struggle to find them. This week was not the case. Those six sentences just jumped right out to me and I went with it!

The last couple weeks, TL and I have been both giving the sentences from either Bearing It All, Kalkin and even Caden. I thought I'd change it up this week and give you six sentences from Rule Breaker. It was published in August and is the first book in our R.O.O.T series.

TL and I had a lot of fun writing and researching this book. It's a Contemporary Military Romance with an HEA.

Here is the blurb:

Asher Rainer, a tough as nails commander, leads an undercover black ops group: Project R.O.O.T. sanctioned by the U.S. government. What should have been a routine mission to obtain reconnaissance, devolves into a mass casualty situation. The whys of which are unknown. Without any thought to her wellbeing, Rae rushes to protect the village children in the clinic from certain death—unwittingly thrusting herself and them into the middle an ongoing power struggle. Rae has to trust someone with what she knows, but it doesn’t mean she has to like them—even if she finds Commander Asher Raines devilishly handsome. 
Asher has no time for love. His dedication is to his team, his country, and protecting the innocent. But, when the heart desires what he shouldn’t be lusting after, will one night with Rae be enough to satisfy his baser needs? Or will he be the one to break all the rules?



“Who fired?” Asher Rainer barked into his Tac-Com device as the first shot rang out from the village below at the base of the mountain. It was followed by short bursts of fire from a distinct AK-47. The only one on his R.O.O.T.—Running Out of Time—team who carried that particular weapon was Alex Schoell, their weapons expert. “Schoell!”

“Nope, not me, Commander,” Alex's Texan drawl cracked over the com.

Moving from his position on the ridge, he focused on the village. He followed the small trail to another vantage point.

They say things happen for a reason. I hope this is true! In the middle of April, Kalkin, which had been released January 9th, was pulled from all book retailers because of a situation out of our control with our publisher. We asked and got our rights back on it. It was, one of the hardest decisions TL and I have ever made. It was, in my mind still selling well. For the most part, TL and I have remained quiet as to why's and what's on why it happened. Simply stating it was a situation out of our control. And this is true. But see I don't think I'm going to do that anymore. TL and I did nothing wrong. We followed the rules and did everything our contract requested of us. It's been a crazy week. The indie world was set on its ear when a well-known writer decided to TM a word often used in Romance/Erotica. I refuse ...I mean I absolutely refuse to say the author's name. I simply refer to her as you know who or the one who shall not be named. I consider her Voldemort to be honest. It's just easier for me. I've been reading everything that's been posted, both sides. TL has also been keeping me in the loop when new stuff goes down and I'm not around. Listen, I understand wanting to TM your name, your series name. I get it. I  just don't get or like how it's been done. It smells of bullying and there just has to be a better way. There just has to be . And I believe, as in this is my opinion, it's going to end badly. There is not much I can do. Six Sentence Sunday with Rule Breaker

This week's #SixSentenceSunday is from Rule Breaker. The first book in our R.O.O.T series. It's an action-adventure Military Romance novel. We had a fun researching and writing this first book. We hope at some point this year to at least start writing the second book in the series. Our hero, Asher Rainer was a blast to write for the simple fact, he has no filter. He says whatever is currently floating around in his head. TL and I knew we'd done it right when our editor informed us she'd never read a character as blunt as Asher.
